A fun fact for those who scroll: Have you heard the term "skeuomorph"? A skeuomorph is anything with gratuitous design elements that call back to its previous form. For example, a floppy disk icon that symbolizes saving a document. Or the tiny, useless handles on syrup containers that are vestigial limbs of old syrup jugs. Or, say, an image of a file folder that's being used to represent a collection of digital items.
