Sidewalk Tidepools

Sidewalk Tidepools was the winner of the Vimeo Weekend Challenge, a competition that encouraged filmmakers to storyboard, film, and edit a video over the course of two days, after receiving a prompt on Friday. The video was inspired by a daydream I had while walking around Prospect Park on a rainy Sunday - what if all the little puddles forming in the pitted Brooklyn concrete were home to urban tide pools?

 

I filmed the base video over the course of a day and animated the flora and fauna of the tide pools using Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere. The musical accompaniment was composed for the video by Ben Houtman.
