Video
I have over a decade of experience producing, scripting, shooting, and editing award-winning video.
At Penguin Random House I worked with designers to create video ads for book-movie tie ins, as well as creating the imprint’s first sizzle reel used to court new authors.
At Atlas Obscura I worked with the company’s nascent video team to create a social video strategy, including filming company events and working with a team of freelancers.
As a freelancer I project managed, scripted, filmed, edited, and animated videos for non-profit and government organizations like ENERGIA and the City of New York.
At NPR I filmed interviews with guests like Jeff Goldblum and Hanif Abdurraqib, piloted successful video series for programs like Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! and It’s Been a Minute, and piloted high-performing breaking news formats for social video. I also worked on daily production, editing, and filming for some of our highest-performing news and culture videos.
Breaking News Video
At NPR I produced and edited daily video shorts on breaking news topics, honing an instinct for topics and types of footage that would perform well with our audience. Many of the videos I produced using wires footage are among our highest performing videos of all time. Our median video view count at the time of these videos was 422,000 views.
Original Video
I scripted, filmed, edited, and occasionally even hosted videos shot in the NPR offices that ranged from current events updates to celebrity interviews. Just a reminder that the median video view count for our videos at the time was 422,000 views.
Ridiculous Video
While NPR was committed to providing deeply-researched, well-reported international news to our audiences, we also report on culture. The videos I worked on weren't all hard hitting - some of them were downright goofy. And I'll say once more: Median view count. 422,000 views.
